About the Piano Duo
The Romanian born pianist Cristina Marton-Argerich is an highly acclaimed international concert pianist, chamber musician and piano pedagogue at the University of Augsburg in Germany. Antonia Miller, a master student of Cristina Marton-Argerich, has gained in the last few years a steadily growing international reputation through numerous appearences in various countries.
They have a deep passion for studying and performing piano duo literature from Bach to Ligeti.
Their wide repertoire includes original works for piano duo as well as many unusual arrangements such as the Mozart/Czerny Requiem, Schönberg’s Verklärte Nacht or Bach’s Goldberg Variations.
Joint concert activities have taken them to Zurich (All Schubert program), the Isarphilharmonie Munich (A lˋungarese program), Berlin, London, Bern, Frankfurt, Konstanz, Pordenone/Italy, Leon/Spain and Radovljica/Slovenia.
Together with the Young Classix Festival Ensemble Augsburg, they tour extensively in southern Germany as a piano duo in 2023/24, playing Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals.

“A l´ungarese”
Her four-hand program “A l’ungarese” is full of contrasts, humor, virtuosity and poetry. It includes works with hungarian background by Franz Schubert, György Ligeti, György Kurtag, Bela Bartok, Ernö Dohnányi, Franz Liszt and Johannes Brahms.
“Morgenland”
The program is dedicated to the fabulous world of the Orient. The two pianists present an atmospheric journey with fascinating piano music for four hands inspired by 1001 Nights, biblical stories, jewish prayers and turkish fairy tales, composed by great composers from Mozart, Rameau, Debussy to Fazil Say and others.
“Ostwärts”
A program of musical masterpieces, starting in Vienna with Schoenberg’s “Transfigured night” through Prague with Schulhoffs “Ironien” and Smetanas “Moldau” and more.
